Vahid Jafarnejad is a talented and creative young artist with an unbounded imagination. Self-imposed isolation allows him to get under the skin of the subjects in his paintings. In his last solo exhibition "a slice of cherry pie" he became the eye of an insect peering out at the world. He goes to parks late at night and mingles with the homeless – speaking with them nourishes his imagination and inspires his work. – much like an actor getting into character. His reading of classical existentialist literature has had a powerful impact on his worldview and work. One can say that his efforts as a hermit alchemist have been fruitful and we will see and hear more of him in the future.
